Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bajrangi Bhaijaan: Salman Khan is the first Rs 500-crore actor of 2015

Salman Khan in a still from Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

Salman Khan and the box office have had an envious relationship for about six years now. When Wanted hit the screens in 2009, the film ended up catapulting box office figures to unimaginable levels. Ever since, Salman has been among those few supertsars in the Hindi film industry, who have given had to their credit blockbuster after blockbuster.
The only film in Salman's post-Wanted phase that did not manage a whopping amount of money is the 2014 Jai Ho - and that had earned Rs 120 crore. More or less, Salman's star power has taken care of the box office after that.
This year, Khan already has Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan in his kitty. The film on Indo-Pak relations and the tale of the mute child Munni who is lost in India and is taken back to her home in Pakistan by Salman's eponymous character wove magic at the box office. The film, till date, has been able to collect more than Rs 300 crore in India. As per reports, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has collected Rs 316 crore at the domestic box office so far.
That was in July this year. Salman's second release this year happened in November, with Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Till November 23, the film has been able to earn Rs 193.22 crore in India. In all, Salman has crossed the Rs 500-crore mark at the India box office this year as far as the collections of his films are concerned. With nearly Rs 510 crore business in India from his films, Salman Khan is undefeated so far this year, box office collection-wise.
Of course, an achievement of the sort will hardly pass unnoticed when there are people tracking every tiny box offiec movement connected to Salman. Salmaniacs, what Khan's fans call themselves, made sure they made some noise on social media to let the world know of the Bajrangi Bhaijaan's feat. On Twitter last night (November 23), the hashtag '#Salman1stToCross500crInAYear' was among the top trends in India.
Salman Khan's next film Sultan is to be released in theatres only during Eid next year. Till then, Khan and his fans have the Rs 500-crore glory to bask in.

Bigg Boss 9: Salman Khan Finally Grills Mandana Karimi!

Bigg-Boss-9-002

Bigg Boss 9 is known for its changing equations and with this we see two besties turn foe now. After Mandana Karimi had re-entered the house, Rochelle Rao was shocked as she was aware that Mandana had heard everything that she had spoken about her after she had left the house and gone to the secret room.
Mandana who was shocked, discussed with the housemates that how Rochelle and Amanwere talking about her after she left. She warned Aman and Rochelle that she will show how to play the game. The trio also had an heated argument on the same.
When Rochelle tried to explain why she had bitched about her, Mandana told her that she didn't get the game. The task was not to save oneself from nomination, but it was to "open her eyes" towards everyone's true feeling about her. Mandana told Rochelle that whatever her intentions were, she chose the task over their friendship.

Salman Khan grills Mandana for snapping at Rochelle because she was made a fool during the secret room task.  Mandana cannot be a true friend to anyone and she proved it after backstabbing Rochelle who was her 'best friend’. Rishabh says he will always stand up forMandana no matter what.
All contestants discuss with Salman Khan about how Mandana falls ill only during task. Everyone feels she does it for her advantage.

Walk down memory lane: Shah Rukh Khan-Salman Khan's camaraderie

Shah Rukh Khan (left) and Salman Khan

That there are no permanent friends or enemies in Bollywood has been proven time and again. The relationship between the two reigning Khans, Shah Rukh and Salman, is a classic example. They became friends in their early days, and even when stardom knocked on their doors and the who-is-the-bigger-Khan game began, they did not let it affect their equation. They supported each other's films and promoted them too. However, when things soured between the duo in 2008 (they apparently had a major fight at Katrina Kaif's birthday bash), it was probably a chaotic phase in B-Town.Having said that, it can't be denied that whenever they have shared cordial relations, SRK and Salman have gone out of their way to show that they will always be there for each other. When the hearing of Salman's 2002 hit-and-run case was on, SRK made a late night visit to his Galaxy Apartments to comfort him. Recently,
when Shah Rukh turned 50, Salman went to Mannat to wish him. But what they did recently was, perhaps, the height of their off-on friendship — the two stars posted Dubsmash videos on Sunday night in which they are seen dancing to the songs of each other's movies, which has now gone viral. SRK along with his 'Dilwale' co-stars Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon grooved to Salman's upcoming film 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo's title track. On his part, Salman along with Sonam Kapoor danced to 'Tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam' from Shah Rukh's 1995 blockbuster 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge'

It is always a big news for the fans when two biggest Khans of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan come together to celebrate an occasion. This time as SRK turned 50, Salman Khan made sure to pay a visit to his house and wish him.
Busy in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo promotions, Salman Khan wished him 'health and happiness' and both the stars exchanged warm gestures.
Shah Rukh posted a picture with bhaijaan, where Salman is seen posing with Shah Rukh Khan in a wrestling position. The caption of the picture reads, "Bhai teaching me the moves for Sultan on my birthday."
In another picture both the Khans are hugging each other with a big smile, indicating that all the cold vibes between the two is a thing of past. Both the stars have been supporting and promoting each other's film for quite some time.
The bond between the two is strengthening on the professional front too, as the trailer of SRK's much awaited film 'Dilwale' is set to release with 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'.

From Rimi Sen's honesty to Salman Khan's 'bhaijaan' mode: Why Bigg Boss Season 9 is the best so far

Chances are, by now you've made your observations about the Bigg Boss season 9. The same contestants who were fresh faces to us are now slowly becoming familiar. The cherry on the cake is always the weekend sessions with Salman Khan, and Sunday night's episode was no less, providing some more insight into the inner workings of the Bigg Boss house.
“ You are so weak, Rimi.”
Salman Khan gently admonished the sobbing, heavily Bong accented film actress whose only memorable roles have been a brief appearance opposite Abhishek Bachchan inDhoom, 2004 and Dhoom 2,2006. She now appears on your TV channels everyday. Sen has claimed that she is done with her time in the house.
If you remember the sweet and talented Rimi Sen who was noticed but never made quite the cut as a big time heroine and if you are a fan, it would be probably be heartbreaking for you to watch her weep like a child on Sunday's episode of Big BossSeason 9.
salman-380 bigboss

Clearly the host was equally touched. Sen kept pleading she wanted to be out of the Big Boss house, but Salman reminded her to be who she always was, at the worst of times on a film set which didn’t make her happy. Bhaijaan, indeed.
"Mujhe bacha lo,” she begged to Khan. Big Boss house was a jail to her. But since the fans refused to vote her out, Khan insisted she get stronger and play the game wholeheartedly. Did she mistake the place for a plush resort, he joked, when she told him he was her last resort? Okay, not that funny but apparently cheery enough to bring a smile back on Sen’s bright red lipsticked face.
Their conversation highlighted two very interesting things: the definition of success and the other contestants’ inner strength. These are themes that mold almost every episode inside the Bigg Boss house.
Sen told Khan that she had never craved too much success in her film career as she preferred her own comfort zone. Khan pointed out how everyone else was staying put and were equally uncomfortable.
This raises a very vital question of what success means in today’s world of easy fame and money. Is it about mere talent or is it about your willingness to change your basic personality in order to get out of the so called “comfort zone”?
Sen comes across as a quiet introvert who likes to keep to herself. She is not as aggressive or gregarious like the rest who participate fully in every task given to them in the show. Yes, she may not be given to being cooperative in certain tasks either but she had good reason. She refused to shave her head or tattoo her arm with “Big Boss” name in big bold letters.
She dared to make those choices despite being fully aware that it may make her unpopular inside and outside the house. She gives a clear opinion when it is sought but does not try to get louder in order to be heard over and above others. The best thing about her is that she is not an attention-seeking actress and has a mind of her own.
Sen wants out. Does that make her a loser or “weak” as Salman says?
Or will she be what Khan says to the next in line of firing, Digangana Suryavanshi ---“I want to see you come out a winner.”
Going by the smile on Sen’s tear soaked face, she is ready to create a new comfort zone and stay herself; which is honest and human. Meanwhile, Khan is going great guns at his new dabangg role—that of a motivating Bhaijaan.
Winner or loser, it all amounts to one thing. You are the boss of yourself. This season of Big Boss looks quite promising as the best so far.
