The hearing of Salman Khan’s
2002 hit-and-run case was postponed to 22nd January yesterday after
Salman’s lawyer reported ill and asked for the hearing date to be pushed
ahead.The next hearing is specifically crucial considering two key
witnesses are to pose before the court, one being the doctor rom J.J
hospital who took Salman’s blood samples after the accident and the
other is the constable who took the actor to the hospital.

Interestingly, as the hearing has been
adjourned to 22nd January, one of the two witnesses, the doctor of
State-run J.J hospital has now asked for police protection. The doctor
without citing any specific reason has asked for it and even refused to
submit the reasoning in writing.
In one of the previous hearings, a
forensic expert had confirmed, double amount of the permissible level of
alcohol in Salman’s blood and now it will be a turning point in the
case when the doctor gives a report of the number of samples taken and
their nature.
